A Look at Marc by Marc Jacobs & Proenza Schouler
Maybe I shouldn’t even say that but I’ve never been super-excited when it comes to NYFW. Opposite to London, Milan or Paris, I’ve never felt strong need to check the collections minutes after they were presented on a runway. And this season there was no difference.
Although I haven’t been to New York physically, I ‘spent’ there a lot of time in the past week. I was much more on the streets observing fashion week street style than at the shows looking at designers’ collections. I haven’t seen all of them but I’ve managed to pick up my favourite two. Totally different but equally amazing.
The first one is Marc by Marc Jacobs – fresh, modern, fun. A bit quirky, a bit cheeky. A bit girly, a bit sporty. I love deconstructed dresses, big sleeves and tiny tops, bubble-wrap inspired organza, pleated tulle and polka dots.
The second one is Proenza Schouler (almost each season my major NYFW crush). Proenza Schouler – more elegant but still easy to wear. Great colour palette, amazing fabric combination, interesting fashion story told in beautiful way. I love dresses in perforated leather and knitted ‘polo’ shirts with see-through crochet skirts.
Goodbye New York!
